Peru: a 'World' of Alpacas
Itinerary starting from only £1,275 per person

Have you ever considered visiting Peru to see alpacas in their natural environment and thought about what it would be like study at one the world’s most important centres for breeding? Surely the planning and organising of such a trip would be an immense and time-consuming undertaking for anyone, even the most experienced of travellers? Well, now there is an answer! We are now offering the opportunity for anyone to take a well-organised and comprehensive tour to discover the native home of the Alpaca, the High Altiplano of Peru.

Working in conjunction with our sister company, ‘The Peruvian Alpaca Co’, we have joined forces with our network of contacts and suppliers in Peru to launch a new and exciting specialist tour for 2006 entitled, “Peru: A World of Alpacas”. This interesting itinerary has been designed especially for dedicated alpaca breeders and enthusiasts alike. The tour incorporates a visit to Arequipa, home of the alpaca and a stay at the famous ‘Mallkini Ranch’ (pictured, right) where there will be workshops and seminars as well as the opportunity to see alpacas in their native country. Of course, no tour to Peru would be complete without a visit to its most famous sight, ‘Machu Picchu’ and time has been allowed in the itinerary to fully take in the magnificent ruined Inca city.

Alpaca Fiesta Dates: 14th to 18th November, 2007

The Alpaca Fiesta 2007 is being organized by the International Alpaca Association and will take place in Arequipa, Peru from 14th to 18th November 2007. Combine this event with a study period at the MALLKINI RANCH a place of excellence in alpaca breeding through Peruvian Secrets Ltd.

Arequipa is where 100% of Peru’s alpaca fibre is processed into semi and/or fully finished textile articles which are then exported worldwide. The city of Arequipa is located 1,000 kilometres south of the country’s capital, Lima, at an altitude of 2,325 metres above sea level. Surrounding the city is the national reserve of Vicuñas and Alpacas which can be seen as part of a tour to the stunning Colca Canyon

The Alpaca Fiesta 2007 will be hosted in Arequipa’s main Showground and Conference Centre, “Cerro Juli”, and will offer a wide range of events aimed at improving the understanding of animal breeding through to finished fashion wear on the catwalk.
