After breakfast
your guide will collect you in our private vehicle from your hotel
to do a fantastic and different tour. Your journey starts as you
leave Puno behind and head off the main road into the countryside.
The first secret location is a hidden waterfall that is unique
to this normally flat Plato region. Offering you the chance to
walk behind the cascade it is truly a stunning location (water
levels are varied according the season). Continuing the journey
into this remote region we head to the community of Tiquillaka
on the banks of Lake Umayo. Here your small row boat will be ready
to cross the clear waters to the Island reserve of Antioquia,
set in the centre of the lake. On arrival you will land at a convenient
location for your discovery on foot, your guide will explain the
secrets, traditions and mysteries of the island where you will
observe vicuñas, guanacos, rabbits, deer, and guinea pigs.
While you enjoy the stunning scenery your guide will prepare our
very special picnic lunch and refreshments. Rejoining our boat
you will be rowed across the lake to the other side where you
can see the remarkable ruins of Sillustani. Your guide will explain
the history and culture of this place before your driver will
meet you to take the return journey back to Puno.
