This spectacular 12 day tour is designed to give you the chance to visit the incredible Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world. Here you will have the opportunity to see the Andean Condor soaring above the canyon’s cliff face. As your journey continues into the Peruvian Andes to the scenic Lake Titicaca and the ruins of Machu Picchu you cover most of the elements of Peruvian culture and natural history.
Tour Itinerary
12 spectacular days of travel and adventure. Discover the best of Peru on our 'once in a lifetime' Flight of the Condor tour...Upon your arrival in Lima, you will be met by your Peruvian Secrets Tour Controller, who will transfer you to your comfortable choice hotel. Here your guide will give you a short run through of the itinerary, hand you your travel vouchers and answer any questions you might have at this point. Depending on your arrival time your guide will escort you to the main area of interest to change money and take in a local restaurant.
After breakfast you will be met by your guide and transferred to the airport for your short flight to Arequipa. Arequipa is known as the white city due to the volcanic rock used in the construction of its buildings. On arrival into Arequipa you will be transferred to your comfortable Hotel. Here you will enjoy this fine city.
Meals - breakfast
Today after breakfast, you will be collected for the start of your tour of the beautiful Colca Canyon. Departure is at 8:00 from Arequipa, crossing 160 kms to the town of Chivay, capital of the Province of Caylloma. Leaving behind Arequipa you will enjoy the majestic views of Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu volcanoes before entering the National Reserve of "Pampa Cañahuas". Here you will make a stop to observe the wild vicuñas (the most important American camel) in its natural habitat and also see alpacas which are abundant in this area. At this point we will be around 3,400 metres above sea level. Continuing to "Pata Wasi" (Pata=high Wasi=home) an Andean community in the opposite border of the reserve, here it is interesting to see the natural formation of the rocks and a view of the other side of the Misti and Chachani volcanoes. To prevent altitude sickness we will enjoy an original Andean "Mate de Coca" drink in Sumbay, 3,800 metres above sea level. Continuing on the road we will pass through "Tocra" over the 4,500 metre high mountains, where we will observe the lakes with migrant birds and we’ll get pictures of the "Antiplano" (highland) with its llamas and guanacos. Our highest point will be "Pata Pampa" (Pata=High, Pampa=Land) located at 4,820 metres, where we’ll observe the volcanoes Ampato, Sabancaya, the Hualca-Hualca, the Mismi (the source of the Amazon River) and the "Cordillera de Chila". Arriving to the town of Chivay (3,651metres) we continue the short distance to the Hotel. After this, we will enjoy a traditional Peruvian lunch (local payment). You are then free to relax and enjoy this quiet, scenic setting.

Breakfast very early in the morning (around 6:00 a.m.), so we can leave to the famous "Cruz Del Condor" point, as early as possible. Before we approach the "Cruz Del Condor" we will make a stop at the look-out point of "Choquetico", with its "Tumbas Colgantes" (hanging tombs), and take a look at the Litomaqueta (The terrace model drawn in a rock). Also we will visit the town of Maca, an Andean community that experienced an earthquake in November of 1991. Arriving to the "Cruz Del Condor" view point you will wait to see the spectacular sight of the Condors as they climb out of the Canyon on the morning thermals. After taking pictures of the majestic flight of the Condors, we will return to our transportation and will start the drive out of the Colca Canyon as we cross the Altiplano to the town of Puno set on the banks of the Great Lake Titicaca. On your mid-afternoon arrival to Puno you will check into your comfortable choice hotel, here you will be met by your local guide who will give you a short briefing on your tour and be happy to answer any questions you may have.
The rest of your day is then free to explore the town and catch up on any correspondence as many internet cafes are available.

After breakfast you will be met once again by your guide as she will be accompanying you throughout your day’s tour of Great Lake Titicaca. First you will transfer to the harbour in Puno where you will board a shared-service group vessel and head out on to the lake. The first port of call will be the incredible floating islands of the Uros Indians; here you will see the way these people live on these most unusual islands. From here you continue onto the Island of Taquile where your guide will escort you around explaining all about the way of life for these people. Their lifestyle has remained the same for hundreds of years with very little influence from modern times, thus preserving many traditions, laws and customs. Skilled crafts are still very important to the inhabitants of Taquile, and the island is famous for its handmade textiles which are regarded amongst the highest-quality handicrafts available. For this reason you will find that they are higher in price in comparison with other mass-produced handicrafts readily found in other parts of Peru. After exploring you will then have the opportunity to have lunch before rejoining your boat for the return journey back to Puno. Your evening is free again at leisure.

Today you take the journey by tourist bus to Cuzco the Inca capital; this is a full day’s journey but takes in stops on the way at various places of interest. On arrival into Cuzco your guide will meet you and transfer you to your comfortable hotel. After a short briefing on your tour you will be able to enjoy your first evening in this busy city.

Today you take the journey by tourist bus to Cuzco the Inca capital; this is a full day’s journey but takes in stops on the way at various places of interest.On arrival into Cuzco your guide will meet you and transfer you to your comfortable hotel. After a short briefing on your tour you will be able to enjoy your first evening in this busy city.

Today you start your relaxed tour of the Sacred Valley taken in private with your guide. On the way you will visit Sacsayhuaman, one of the best examples of Inca stonework. From here we will travel to a variety of sites including Qenko, Puca Pucara and Tambo Machay, before arriving at the small village of Pisac a picturesque town which is the gateway to the Sacred Valley. Here you have an opportunity to viewing the many artisans work in the famous market then you will have the opportunity of taking lunch in a local restaurant (local payment). You will continue along the Sacred Valley and check into your comfortable hotel where you can refresh before we rejoin our vehicle to make our last tour to the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo. Here you will have a guided tour with everything you see explained to you. Returning to your hotel you can relax and take your evening meal in the fine restaurant of this very comfortable and friendly hotel.

This morning you will transfer to the train station. Here you will board the wonderful Train to Aguas Calientes which offers great panoramic views as you route takes you through the changing microclimates into the higher reaches of the Amazon, to the small yet lively town of Aguas Calientes. On arrival you will be met by your hotel representative and escorted to the Hotel. Here you will check in to your hotel and have a welcomed opportunity to relax in preparation for the following full day’s visit to Machu Picchu. As well as being the obvious starting point for any visit to Machu Picchu, the town is also famous for its hot springs, (agua = water, caliente = hot), just remember to pack your swimming costume!
Meals - breakfast
This is an ideal opportunity to take the first transport up to the ruined city of Machu Picchu giving you the chance to witness the spectacular sight of appearing like magic through the early morning cloud. In order to maximise your enjoyment from your visit, Peruvian Secrets provides the services of a professional local guide who will reveal some of the mysteries that surround this fascinating place. After your visit you return to Aguas Calientes where you will have time to take your evening meal before you collect your luggage and transfer to the train station to take the return train journey to Poroy. Upon arrival you will again be met for your transfer back to Cuzco by road and check into your Hotel once again. The evening is free to take in a restaurant and enjoy the Inca Capital.

You will have the morning to relax and prepare for your flight back to Lima before you are met and transferred to the airport where you will leave the Andes for your spectacular flight over the mountains to Lima. On arrival you will be met by your Peruvian Secrets Tour Controller and transferred to your hotel leaving the rest of the day free to relax or explore Meals - breakfast
Today at the appropriate time you will be collected and transferred to the airport for your international flight home. Your guide will bid you farewell and make sure you are checked in correctly before seeing you through to departure.
